The Incredible Bouncing Dog
My aunt’s dog has an amazing ability to BOUNCE on command, as seen here …

Then to Georgia to help out with the Senate run off – so sad we didn’t win – but we did succeed in climbing Stone Mountain (in the rain, no less) …
Then to New Orleans for Thanksgiving – and beignets and hurricanes!
Back to Missouri to pick up my car before heading off to the wilds of Connecticut to see some family (no picture here, sorry).
Off to Massachusetts to see the famous boat and rock (I was totally expecting the rock to be HUGE! and visible from miles away – it’s rather, erm, small in comparison and housed in its own monument) …
Then to NYC to meet up with a couple of friends and spend the weekend (funny story about Liberty Island another time) …
Then to Maine to see where my grandmother used to live …
Decide to flee New England before the storm arrived – I couldn’t out run it (as evidenced) and this is where my inner Texan wondered a. where the hell my car was and b. what the hell to do with it when I found it. Drive? OF COURSE! And the ice/snow has the last laugh as I’m what should be 3 hours away 9 hours later. Gah!
Made a stop in Niagara to see the falls and decided to leave the country for lunch …
Continue on towards Chicago and get stuck in lake effect snow in Pennsylvania – which is where I am now – holed up in a hotel having Doritos, Starbursts and Diet Coke for dinner because I’m too chicken to try to drive on ICE covered with SNOW to get dinner elsewhere.
I’ll leave you with my most favourite photo from the trip so far – of me, I’m so vain – from the ferry to Liberty Island.
Snow!
Am in NYC and just had to mention that it's SNOWING!
I am sooooo happy! Frolicking in the snow, attacking friends with snowballs, being pelted myself and getting excited when I can see all six points of the flake as it lands on my jacket.
Oh, and of course running around with my tongue out trying to catch a snowflake on my tongue. While walking down Broadway no less.
Normally? I would totally try to blend in and pretend to be a native, but snow will do strange things to people. Namely, me.
Let the snow obsession begin.
