September
Life has been pretty repetitive in the past 8 months, especially the last 3. I think I’ve had a grand total of 5 or 6 days off and in those day I felt like a total slacker because I wasn’t doing anything except sitting in front of a computer looking for more jobs.
Ah well.
I’ve found that you can learn a lot on the trail and by a lot, I mean a lot about yourself. I’ve always pretty much thought of myself as an assertive person who’s not willing to back down or be painted into a corner – though I have, at times, allowed this – but since February, I’ve been cultivating this steam roller attitude that if you get in my way you’d better watch the eff out because I’m fully prepare to roll over you because you’re prohibiting progress of something I believe in. Like affordable healthcare. A greener environment. Diplomacy first. You get the picture.
Anyhoodle, things came to a head recently and the end result wasn’t pretty. But with a little diplomacy, things have been smoothed over and we’re back on track. We have 35 days to make this happen. If you haven’t gotten involved, march yourselves down to your local office or visit the website to help out.
