Plucked
So I thought I had another day to prepare to drive to Portland.
Oh, you didn't know I was going to Portland? I am. Something to win up there soon where my services are needed. But apparently there's something to win this weekend in Seattle where I can help out too, so here I go.
I was called at 1:30 and told to be at the airport for a 3:12 departure. I seriously feel like I've been plucked from my life and deposited in someone else's. But I love it. And I haven't had time to freak about flying.
Here we go.
And the craziest thing about all this? My fortune cookie this afternoon at lunch said: Chill while you can, a big project is coming your way. I love that the gods have an odd sense of humor.
And for the record? I'll be in Oregon for the foreseeable future. Exciting!

Alive
To all those who question: I am, in fact, alive.

Long Daze
Anyway, I get little to no sleep with this job. I get to the office around 7:30/8AM, work all day, don’t leave the office ’til about 11PM, if I’m lucky, and then when I get home, there’s still a boatload of email to take are of. But it’s fun. And I have a good time.
One thing that is absolutely phenomenal about the hours and the fact that I both leave and arrive home in the dark is that I get to see every single sunrise and sunset. Let me tell you, they’re great. I didn’t remember that I’d been missing out for the past few years being a lazy bum/student/teacher. I’ve seen more sunrises and sunsets in the past week than I had in the past few years. Sad but true.
So, for this past weekend, a quick recap: music, lots more music, good food, a bit of good alcohol, beads, St Patty’s Day parade, a couple more concerts, cruising around Austin, shopping, lots of caffeine to keep the sleepies at bay, a little too much sun, rocking good times with friends, AWESOME FREAKING JOB OFFER, a quick trip up north and super quality conversation. I really couldn’t ask for more. I was told to take one last weekend to be human and to enjoy myself and everything just came together so serendipitously. The timing simply couldn’t have been better.
Back to work.
Intermittent Hiatus
Love to you all. See you soon.
Best! Week! Ever!
Not that it can't be outdone at a later date, but let's recap the past week:
1. Blog friend comes into town.
2. Run into Micheal Stipe after having been in Austin for half an hour.
3. Score wristbands for SxSW for a quarter the price of a badge.
4. Easily get into REM show and waltz to about 10 feet from the stage so as we can see Stipe's facial expressions.
5. See The Weakerthans in concert and manage to be in the 2nd/3rd row.
6. Get the job I've been dreaming of/lusting after for the past month handed to me. It literally fell in my lap.
7. Lastly? And we're saving this for 7 since that's my favourite number, there's more music to come tonight in Austin and again tomorrow up in a city in north Texas. With a certain someone. Can this week get any better? I dare say it will!
